Researching My Family's Land

Because the US Archives is enjoying a year-plus hiatus from processing requests, I decided to continue as if the land patent file didn't exist and instead focused on where the land is today.

I'm guessing that the land patent purchased didn't end up working out the way my ancestor expected because aside from that patent, there is no documented trace of ownership beyond the initial purchase.

That's for the 44 acres in Attala County...

My great great grandfather purchased a 55 acre parcel of land in Panola County, Mississippi that is still in my family.
